In-Person Services Currently on Hold

On Sunday, March 15, the First Jefferson Board of Trustees voted to suspend all in-person services at the church, through the end of March. What this means is there will be no church on Sunday. But there will be a service, live-streamed on our Facebook page at the regular church hour of 11:00 am. A small volunteer crew will help to make that happen.

Other events, like Misha’s concert on Friday and the Chili Cook-Off and Garden Work Party on Saturday will be postponed. I’m postponing yoga and Colleen will keep Tai Chi going until further notice. We left it to renters to make their own decisions about meetings at the church.

Our bookkeepers, however, will not stop paying our bills. Continue to send your pledges to the church office. Payments can also be made via the "Give to First Jefferson’s Ministries" link under Donate on this page. And if you haven’t sent in your pledge card for next year, do it now while you’re thinking about it. Continue to keep in touch by phone and emails.

Caring and Sharing will meet on Saturday. We’ll let you know more about how to stay in touch with us and with each other. Take care of yourself. Wash your hands. Stay out of crowds and do those things you promised yourself you’d do when you had more time.

Peace and Love,
Rev. Annie and Pres. David

You Count! 2020 Census Starts April 1

This year you can choose to respond to the census on secure internet, by telephone, by mail or in person. Whatever you choose, it’s important to respond. An accurate count will affect how representation in the Federal Government is apportioned; how legislative districts will be drawn; how Federal dollars will be distributed; how voting rights will be enforced; and how future government decisions will be made.

But don’t stop there. Help other people in your community understand how important it is to participate. Here are two 30-second videos you can send to others (after you watch them yourself).

As an added inducement for you to watch these, I can tell you that once you get on YouTube there is a longer, very funny Saturday Night Live census video, starring Betty White, listed on the menu.

Helping and laughing. Two of my favorite things. —Rev. Annie
