First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church

Our Approach

Children’s Religious Education Mission Statement :

Our church community is called to support each other as we raise and develop children of character.   The The Children and Youth Religious Education (CYRE) program of First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church (FJUUC) will:

  • Teach the Principles and Purposes of Unitarian Universalism as well as knowledge and respect for the religious beliefs of others
  • Support the children and youth in their quest for understanding
  • Promote respect for and knowledge of Nature
  • Embrace one another as members of our church family.

Our Philosophy:

Parents are the primary religious educators and guides for their children, but you don’t have to do it alone!  Our religious education program seeks to support parents and children in their spiritual quest through our classes, carefully selected curricula, social and service activities, and most of all, by providing an atmosphere of both tolerance and questioning.  We encourage children and youth to define, share and then act on their beliefs.
