Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU)

High school youth have a number of opportunities to participate in our church community. We have a 10th-12th grade religious education class that meets every Sunday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. The curriculum for our high-schoolers is chosen to encourage our youth to reflect on their moral and religious values, challenge them to grow emotionally and spiritually, and urge them to make a difference in the world.

YRUU is our youth group program that meets outside regular religious education hours to provide additional outlets for spiritual growth and social interaction for our 9th- to 12th-grade youth. Our YRUU group offers opportunities for leadership, youth worship, social action, fun, bonding, trust, acceptance of others, and deep and meaningful friendships. YRUU meets regularly at the church and also participates in cluster and district events..

Our high school youth are also encouraged to take part in the life of our congregation – they are lay worship leaders, committee members, musicians, childcare workers, cooks, and participants in almost all of the many activities of the church. We welcome them into the full life of the congregation in the recognition that our youth are our future.
